An application by the owners to demolish an ancient barn and cartshed.

In August 2020 it was with dismay that the Parish Council learned of a planning application by the owners to demolish the ancient and beautiful barn and cartshed at Home Farm that stands on the Kenninghall Road in Quidenham village. Word quickly spread and the Council was inundated with emails and letters expressing anger and sadness at the loss of a local historical building as a result of the lack of upkeep by the owners.

The protests had the desired effect and to everyone’s relief the application was withdrawn.

However, an application to erect a fence around the buildings followed but this was later withdrawn without explanation. Quidenham Parish Council has no idea what will follow but be sure it will keep a watching brief and report if it becomes aware of any further action being taken.
